Little Space

So my husband finally found some time to bring the computer table to the master’s bedroom. I’ve been asking him to do that since it’s much easier to use the laptop (well, any laptop for that matter) when it’s on a computer table with an external mouse and keyboard rather than having to surf the internet while sitting down on the bed. It hurts my back when I do that. Now, I can sit properly and I can use a mouse properly. It’s just a matter of cleaning up the cabling and I will be happy.

An ergonomic keyboard, an ergonomic mouse, and a good seat, maybe it will inspire me to blog more. MAYBE.

You are what you eat

I can only remember one instance in my life when I changed the things that I eat. From the beginning I can remember eating very good food that my mom, or dad, or Yaya M prepared for us. I remember a time during college when I just didn’t want to eat red meat anymore, and only ate chicken or vegetables. I think I lasted 2 months on that diet. It was summer, and when school was back, I had to start eating meat again, else I won’t be eating at Rodic’s.

I have had a change in my diet on account of my GDM diagnosis. I eat more vegetables and fruits now, and carefully monitor the starch that I eat. I was given a diet plan by a nutritionist that I have been faithfully following for 2 weeks now. For the first three days, I felt really weak. Imagine, a normal person would have starch as 65% oif their diet, I only had 45% so it was a pretty drastic change in my eating habits. I was also required to eat my morning and afternoon snack, which meant that I had to block some time in my calendar so that I don’t forget.

After the three days, I felt better and actually felt that I was getting enough food. Sure there are days that I crave for food. I am pregnant after all. But most cravings are passing, and are brought about by my feelings of deprivation. Since, I can’t eat anything sugary, I more often than not feel that I want to eat half a gallon of ice cream. I just laugh it off and eat a fruit and think that after all this, I can have my fill of all the ice cream I want.

I was told that after birth, I should consider sticking to my current diet. It will help me get back to my supermodel figure (haha!). I am on a wait and see mode. Lechon and ice cream is after all so tempting, and I am but human.

Advanced Happy Father’s Day

I read this at dooce.:
When I was single, I decided I wouldn’t marry a man unless I could be proud if we had a son who turned out exactly like him — Maggie Mason

And that sums up how I feel about my husband. :)

Anniversary Gift

People who know us know that DA POGI and I are very big on Anniversary celebrations.

Like on our first year as a married couple, we went to Subic. Stayed for the whole weekend and generally reminisced about the time that has passed. :)

On our second year, we had a whole shebang. Reserved for Holiday Inn at Clark, then went to Coco Beach in Puerto Galera. That thing was a planned week of celebration.

On our third year, we had dinner at Bistro Chef Laudico. The only reason why there wasn’t anything planned was because DA POGI was leaving for a long assignment 3 days before our anniversary. So we ended up postponing a trip, and settled on a very nice dinner at the Bistro. I joined him in the US for a 2 week vacation, which made the postponement worthwhile.

Now on our fourth year, we had nothing special planned. We had a quick dinner at Buon Giorno in Tagaytay before he had to rush to work. We also didn’t have a trip planned on account of my current condition. However, we did spend on something a little extra special. Not a gift for us, but a gift for Ringo. Aria is no more.

Meet Lola.

Perspective

There comes a time in your life when you feel really bad about things that are happening to you and then God shows you that you have it better than someone else.

It may be a person of your age dying, a friend’s dad passing away, or a baby being born prematurely.

And today, Thank you Lord for the life you have given me. I’m sorry if I was complaining the past couple of days. Thank you for putting me in my rightful place.

Meme: 10 Random Things/6 Quirky Things

I was tagged by Jeanny to do 6 Quirky Things about myself. At the same time I was also tagged by Lyra and Maver to do 10 Random Things about myself. To shorten things, I’ll just write down 10 things about myself and let you guys figure out which are the 6 quirky things.

Here it goes.

1. I don’t like corned beef. There was a time that I refused to eat corned beef and would rather starve than be forced to eat canned meat. After getting married, I became more tolerant.

2. I learned to drive at the age of 21. I took driving lessons 2 months before a scheduled US trip. When I went to the US, I shook in fear of driving on the freeway. But now, I like driving long distances.

3. I was the class nerd when I was in high school. My circle of friends included the most admired girl in the batch, the class clown, the quietest girl in class, the richest girl in the batch (she’s riches because when most of us had 50 pesos as baon, she had 200!), the varsity player, the vainest girl in class. Even in high school I am for diversity.

4. Speaking of high school, my friends’ fondest memory of that time was when I made the substitute math teacher cry. Prior to that I was asked by my 9th grade math teacher to get out of class if I already knew the lesson for that day (which I knew). Yeah, I know. I was a smart @$$.

5. I learned to love math when I met my 5th grade math teacher. I joined competitions yearly from 5th grade to 10th grade. I never won regionals.

6. I have a compliant personality. When in confusion, I will often ask “Isn’t there a defined process for this?”. Ask my Mom.

7. My husband and I share the same birthday.

8. I love to read. It started when my 7th grade teacher asked us to do a book report on PS I Love You (Yes! The Sweet Dreams novel!). The first grown up book I read, that wasn’t required for school, was The Client by John Grisham.

9. Don’t hand me the microphone during videoke sessions if you still want to get hold of it. I know no shame when I get started on that microphone.

10. Before Kr1s Aquin0 had a miscarriage, I dreamed of being a contestant on Wheel of F0rtune and having Kr1s say “Aaaawww, You’re preggy?! Me too!”.

Picture Booth

Hamming it up
DA POGI and I attended a wedding last weekend. Here’s a picture of us hamming it up at the Picture Booth. Notice that my smile did not change until the last picture. Yes, I am that boring.

This is a picture of me at 24 weeks.

Four Years

Today, my partner in crime and I celebrate four years of wedded bliss.

I’ve always remembered our wedding day as probably one of the happiest days of my life. I was so sure walking down the aisle to the man I love.

Four years have not changed how I see my husband. I always see him as the person who is always there for me, the person who loves me dearly and my best friend. He is the person who taught me how it is to love someone. He still is and forever will be my Prince Charming.

And now that we’ve completed another year and embarking on our journey to parenthood, I’ve never been so sure that I have chosen the right person to join me in this journey.

Happy Anniversary Honey!

My First Mothers Day

I got this for my first Mothers Day.
